PIETRE NERE
Pietre Nere strips away the concept of home, blending it into a new exploration of what it truly means.
Our way of dwelling,
Of building,
Of occupying a space.
Pietre Nere is home in all its infinite variations,
Personal and social,
Intimate and public.
Homes of yesterday, today, and tomorrow,
Homes of stone and flying homes,
World homes and the world as home.
It’s from inside out that we shape our world
Home is intimacy and separation,
It’s a refuge for some, yet riddled with cracks and divides.
Home is the line drawn between the urban and the natural.
Home is our body,
It’s what we wear,
It’s our loved one
It’s a fondness,
A city, a neighborhood.
Home is the place where we grew up,
Home is an object, a photo, a letter, a profile on a social network.
Pietre Nere: A Theatrical Exploration
Pietre Nere is a theatrical show emerging from research carried out by Casa Mondo, the winning project of Compagnia San Paolo’s Art Waves competition. Casa Mondo invited five artists to delve into different sites, each choosing a location to spark their creative exploration. Through this encounter, they produced artistic works that form the foundation of the show.
Pietre Nere is a tapestry woven from the voices, sounds, and images contributed by the artists, a composition that invites audiences to the reflect on and question what home means.
